planting thumbnailSuccessful funding applications and a new manager secure a positive wetland future at Tangatapu. Following a successful DOC BioCondition funding application, to be complemented by NRC funding, the Tangatapu Wetland Restoration project will be able to move forward.

We are soon to install permanent fencing in the initial restoration area at Tangatapu, to replace the existing electric fencing which is insufficient to keep stock out of the wetland area. This work will be completed by the end of this year.

RichRobbinsWe're also pleased to announce Richard Robbins has been contracted to manage this project for Living Waters. Richard is Russell-based and has recently joined the Bay of Islands Maritime Park committee as a representative for the riparian/catchment side of the organisation. He is also involved with Guardians of the Bay of Islands.
